RTHS Blog Posts Archive

For many years, the Rideau Township Historical Society has maintained an archive of articles, reports and presentations related to the history of the former Rideau Township. Through a re-formatting of this interesting and useful material, we now have a completely searchable database, to which we will continue to add items over time.

Much of the information in this collection has been "mined" from RTHS newsletters dating back to 2005. That represents over 150 individual newsletters, each of which is being reviewed to identify material we feel may be of interest to members and visitors. This is a "work in progress" so in order that the completed collection is displayed in chronological order beginning with the most recent, we are beginning with the older posts and working our way up to the present.

A Note on Searching the Collection: You can search our Blog Post collection by using the Search box below, or those on any of our pages. Your search results will include all document titles from our site (principally newsletters and blog posts) containing all of your search terms, but not necessarily in combination. However, you can search for a specific phrase by using quotations in the Search box. When a document from your search results is opened, press "Ctrl+F" (Windows) or Cmd+F (OS) and reenter your search terms, one at a time (search terms entered together in this search box will return 0 results, unless the terms appear together in the document.) However, specific phrases can be found in the document using this method, but only if the phrase is accurate and the quotation marks are removed.
